The start of this series came on 7/February-2012 with just a single part of the first chapter added under the name of TV and Film Residential Camp, sharing the spotlight with Doctor Who: The Star Wars Chronicles.
As the first original, you would have thought I’d have put a bit more thought into it, but just the same as the fan-created stuff, I was running on just a basic idea. In reality, there was more than just the basic idea, as I’d had to create a world and characters on my own, rather than just borrowing from other franchises. However, much the same as that fan-created stuff, there was no serious planning put into it and I’d just be adding ideas into the story that I felt worked with what came before. The story itself needed more though. It needed a bit of proper planning put behind it.

The third novel starts off a new series, based in a cyber world using video game logic. On the Kindle store for £2.70, the previews should have given a good idea of what this is about. The basic story of good vs evil, filled with character, action, and a number of references to a certain franchise.
There's something satisfying about reworking the basics of an idea into something that can be published, and this is one of those ideas. From the beginnings of nothing more than a Powerpoint with a bunch of short scenarios that barely linked to what has become seven episodes of an interlinked arc. First off, I just want to say that I am sorry about the month delay this has seen. It's even longer than a month if you consider the original estimated release was meant to be December '17. There's a few personal issues I'm suffering, and as such I'm in a weird motivational limbo. Everything except final checks is now complete, so a firm date of 7/May is set.
As for this preview, if you looked at the preview of the first episode, you'll know that three people for a Secondary Elemental Unit were in the process of being selected for the Elemental Division of the Ballart Police Force. That selection has happened and the unit has seen some action. In the second episode, there's a bit more exploration into the elements, as well as the current mission of the elementals. --- Before bringing the next preview of the book, I thought I’d go over some of the elements within it. And what better place to start than with those elements. The idea with them is much the same as magical attacks within games like Kingdom Hearts or Skyrim, but I wanted to expand the range considerably.
The basic ones like fire, water, and electric are there, but then you get ones that don’t seem like they would be much use, such as gravity and wind. I’ve worked in as much as I could with all of them – looking for both world uses and mobility uses. They are ever growing with new things always being added to them. While some of them won’t get much use within this story, you can guarantee that they will get time to shine in future stories. As stated in the monthly update, Elemental Heroes is a world not unlike a video game. The police force within the world have harnessed the power of the elemental stones, and a secondary unit is ready to fill with those who are ready to progress from trainee to a full unit.
In the preview below, the Primary Elemental Commander Gary watches upon a training session, ready to select three who will fill the Secondary Elemental Unit. ---- My second book has now hit the Kindle Store. Secrets Behind The Truth is available for £2.75, but for that you get almost 200 pages of book. This one is also available on Kindle Unlimited, so again - a buy or a borrow helps support me.
The story that started in 2012 and was almost completed in 2013. The story that I wanted to be my first, but decided to start with a shorter story. And in a way, I'm glad I did Alternate Adventures first. It was the driving force needed to sort the middle part of this one out, as well as give it the second plot thread included. Yes, my first book has been published to the Kindle Store. The short story compilation comes in at 93 pages, and has a price tag of £2.50 (though that will probably be reduced soon). If you have Kindle Unlimited, it can be borrowed for free, but borrow or buy you will be helping me.
As I've stated before, the idea to do this came from TV and Film Residential Camp - where I was using real names of real friends and other members of the group. As I was building that up, I wanted a full cast of original characters, while still borrowing elements from my experiences. All the stories are original though. Doctor Who: The Star Wars Chronicles – Look Back, Look Ahead Part 4 [From 26/October-2016]15/2/2020 This is the final part. The future. With Episode 13 having now been posted to WattPad, it's easy enough to recap here. Qiilura over, the mission to Forsaad can now take place. The idea was to put DarkRula on the spot, and force his hand in being cut off from the Jedi.
It was also a way to introduce two sisters we'll be seeing more of later. Lei'sa and So'lei are Twi'lek bounty hunters who are able to use the Force. They aren't Jedi, so they've had to teach themselves to use those powers. These two have taken the Federation up on their bounty, and with their help storms the Jedi base on Forsaad. The intention is to get the location of the Jedi main base - Ilum. This is all part of the war between the Jedi and the Federation of which both sides have been avoiding discussing with DarkRula. While I can't say the details - they will come at the end of this series - I can say that it will cause DarkRula to do something he has been holding back on doing. So, with DarkRula and The Doctor performing upgrades to all the equipment and droids on The Ark, they are out of the action for the time being. Which gives us time to catch up on what the Daleks have been doing. Doctor Who: The Star Wars Chronicles – Look Back, Look Ahead Part 3 [From 21/September-2016]15/2/2020 So here we are. The point where the written fiction joins up with the audio series. It's here I'm thinking - "This doesn't need to be a full retelling of the audio." Sure, the main plot points still need to be in place. I made sure they were.
But the written fiction, as I've said before, was more about being a behind-the-scenes type story. What happened between the audio episodes. So, for the audio episodes themselves, it would be interesting to get more into events happening at the same time but not covered within the audio themselves. Yeah, the main points of the audio would still be there. That's the whole point of including them in the first place. More would be happening though. Take, for example, the very start of Act 7. The Daleks are in the middle of taking over the cruiser the stormtroopers arrived in. With the audio, we only ever get a small peek at that scene, and without ever knowing the Daleks are the ones causing the mayhem. With the written fiction, we're following them throughout the cruiser as they tackle multiple squads and groups of stormtroopers. The written fiction of the series, as said in the previous part, started at the beginning of February 2012 - the 7th to be exact. It started at the same time TV and Film Residential Camp did, though the two did split from the same posting dates after the first few uploads.
Both stories do share similarities in production. For instance, the starting few parts had very little planning, and only after those few parts did any sense of a longer plan - in other words the main of the story - come from that. The first two parts of the audio series did give me something to work on, and since Doctor Who is in the name, I knew I wanted to start this series with The Doctor. I started it out with the Daleks and Cybermen fighting on some planet with the intention that The Doctor stops the fight. Having him be the one to send the Daleks to the Star Wars universe came from the fact The Doctor has caused problems to be made - sometimes unintentionally - and then having to fix them. |
